Malik Deenar (ra)
I've lived so close to such a blessed place & wasn't knowing the whole story, A Sahaba is someone who saw the prophet and was his companion throughout his days in mecca & Medina. And they are ranked the purest souls after the prophets and angels.
KASARGOD, a place in Kerala has a masjid that was built 1400 years ago. Previously there was endless debate regarding whether it's built by a tabi (who is the next generation to sahaba) or a Sahaba( whose eyes are blessed to see the prophet).
In 1975 during a “Uroos festival,” a scholar from Egypt came to Kasargod, and he went on to see the druga. Immediately after the Ziyara, he asked the locals present there, “ Do you have a doubt of the identity of this person lying inside the grave? You shouldn't be. This is a Sahaba, not a tabi, and if you want to know which Sahaba it is, he is Malik, a companion of the prophet who was present when Nabi (SA)split the moon into two. This sahabi has witnessed one of the greatest muhjizath of the prophet with his eyes. And the scholar continued, when the verse “The Hour has drawn near and the moon was split in two 54:1 ”came, this is the sahaba asked the prophet “Matha saa-athi yaa Rasulullah/When will be the hour”? He also added, “Malik is from me & I'm from Malik, said once by prophet S.
Now the dilemma is cleared, but for those who ask about “the importance of it”. Rasulullah once told “Any place on earth my Sahaba happens to die, where his grave is found. He will lead the people of that place to mahsara. Kasargod got a leader then. Subanallah.
The Egyptian Scholar didn't stop there. he told them if Khwaja Mohinudheen Chisty RA (Ajmeer) is a water drop from an ocean. Now listen to this, 90 lakhs of people converted to Islam because of Kwaja. and if he's a drop from an ocean then Malik Deenar (RA) is like the ocean.
We don't realise anything until we know its value. Ain't it? Thousands of people rush into Ajmeer every day. With all respect, The one we have in Kasargod is the GREATEST of them all. Arguably a Sahaba who have seen the greatest blessing, the face of the Prophet. Subahanallah.
